VGA 15-Pin Female Wall Plate - Gold-Plated Connector VGA cables? Haven’t those gone the way of “boat anchor” CRT computer monitors? Why would you want to hook an old-style VGA monitor to a wall connection when they’re all being replaced by flat panel monitors with DVI or HDMI inputs and outputs? It’s possible that you have a deep emotional tie to your old-school computer and monitor and will only let someone have them if they pry them from your cold, dead hands. Or, more likely, you’re using a VGA connection for a more modern application; many high-definition televisions have a VGA input which can be fed with the video output from a computer, allowing the HDTV to be used as a second monitor. This is particularly useful if you’re feeding the TV from an older computer which doesn’t have HDMI or DVI outputs. The modern formats would be a natural first choice to connect between an HDTV and computer, because a digital signal allows for more accurate video reproduction. But VGA is still perfectly serviceable and able to deliver good resolution and frame rate even though it’s an analog format. OK, so we’ve decided that you have a reasonable use for a VGA connection. Why bother with a wall plate? Well, just look behind your TV or computer, and you’ll have your answer. The cable that’s going to run between them is large and unwieldy and will probably have to cross an entire room, since it’s unlikely that your HDTV and computer are side-by-side. Running the cable through the wall, and having it terminate right behind each of the devices, is a much more elegant and practical way to connect a computer and television over the long term. Our Cmple VGA wall plate has a standard 15-pin female VGA jack, fits into a standard-sized electrical box, and doesn’t require any soldering or special skills to install. You just attach the wall cable on one side, plug the monitor or computer into the other, and you’ve got a permanent connection which will work forever and won’t be an eyesore. The female VGA jack is high-quality and gold-plated, to make sure that the connection is rock-solid and the connector won’t corrode when exposed to humidity or changing temperatures over the years. The white plates even come with color matching screws, to add a finishing touch which can complement your paint, wallpaper or décor. Full details of the Cmple VGA 15-pin female wall plate with gold-plated connectors: Allows quick and easy VGA wall plate connections Ideal for wall mounted flat panel TVs and LCD/plasma HDTVs Includes color matched mounting screws Standard 15-pin VGA gold-plated female jack Color: white Lots of people would simply turn up their noses at the thought of a VGA cable installation. They’d call themselves “videophiles.” We’d call them snobs. Sure, we’d prefer a digital video signal over an analog one any day of the week. But there are times that HDMI or DVI simply aren’t feasible or aren’t the optimal solution to a problem. When a VGA connection is the right solution for your needs, this wall plate makes it easy to set up the connection so it’s out of the way, easy to access, permanent, and ridiculously inexpensive.
